    Moving to St Anthony Park

St. Anthony Park real estate has the prestige of being one of the most popular neighborhoods in all of St. Paul (that definition of popularity being based on the extremely low turnover in the housing stock). St. Anthony Park is characterized by winding streets, hilly topography, and a little Village that time forgot. Go to the Scandinavian bakery, little post office, quaint hardware store, and local car repairman, all within the same block. Not to mention the Village's great restaurants, coffee shops, book and gift stores, beautiful parks, historic Carnegie Library and good schools! St. Anthony Park also has the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus and Luther Seminary to complete the feel of a little college town.

St Anthony Park real estate is situated in the northwestern corner of the city of St. Paul, and is bounded on the west by the Minneapolis/St. Paul city limit, on the north by Falcon Heights/Lauderdale city limits. Forming more specific boundaries are Hoyt Avenue to the north, Cleveland Avenue and University of MN St. Paul Campus on the east, I-94 on the south, and Highway 280 on the west.

There are two distinct residential areas, North and South St Anthony Park real estate, divided by the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks and train yard.

The area was first developed in the late 1800's as a planned community between the two downtowns. Much of the housing is coveted for its elegant woodwork, detailing, craftsmanship and variety of sizes. Several Queen Anne's dot the landscape and are on the National Register. Many of the houses built in the area are adaptations of Bungalow, Craftsman, Prairie style, Four Square and Victorian designs.

North St. Anthony Park holds the campus and the Village, whereas South St. Anthony Park is closer to the commercial corridor of the Midway. South St. Anthony Park is home to a neighborhood favorite, the Hampden Park Co-Op, along with Hampden Park, MN Women's Press, Key's Restaurant,  Cafe Biaggio, The Artist's Grind and Carleton Artist's Lofts. Upcoming commercial, retail and residential development, along with the proposed Light Rail station, make South St. Anthony Park a perfect city neighborhood!
